The Museo Diocesano is housed on the main floor of the Archbishop’s Palace. The present look of the palace’s south side is the result of 16th Century remodelling by Bishop Bernardo Eroli. In 1952 the eastern Bishop Bernardo Eroli wing was taken down to allow more space to the apses of the church of Sant’Eufemia, situated in the courtyard. The museum has works from the 13th to the 18th centuries as well as a 14th Century altar step by the Maestro di Cesi. There is also a crib painted by Domenico Beccafumi.
