The Museo dell’Opera Metropolitana is home to a number of important works. Among these are: the ‘Madonna and Child’ by Jacopo della Quercia, the ‘Majesty’ by Duccio di Buoninsegna, and the beautiful altarpiece with ‘Blessed Agostino Novello’ by Simone Martini. Also to be seen in the museum is a notable reliquary and the stunning collection of sculpture by renowned, Giovanni Pisano. From the museum it is possible for visitors to climb up to the top of the front of the Duomo for a view over the city.
