The Museo dell’ Alto Mediove in the city of Rome concentrates on decorative arts from the era between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance. Here you can find intricately carved gold and silver daggers, swords, buckles and horse tackle. There are also many ordinary articles from everyday life, such as jars used for cooking, storing oils and preserving food. This museum is unique in that it has what are probably the world’s oldest earliest folding chairs.
