Map
The Museo Archeologico in Siena was moved from its original home on the ground floor of the Sapienza. Today the museum can be found in the Spedale di Santa Maria della Scala and occupies almost all of the converted basement area. There are some prehistoric displays, the Etruscan, and the Roman periods which illustrate the development of civilisation in the Siena-Chiusi area. Some private collections were also added including those of Chigi Zondadari, and Bonci Casuccini which are especially interesting.
