The La Vela Marsh can be found next to the promontory known as ‘Il Fronte’ at the end of the natural channel called Capo D’Ayala and is covered with the Fucarino pinewood. Surrounded by woods this is a perfect habitat for the resident and migratory birds thanks to its lush halophytes. The reserve feeds many animals, such as the limicolous species looking for food in the mud or on the shores. Many of them are very characteristic of these wetlands, but occasionally you can spot other species.
