La Lanterna is a beach near the city centre. It is the only beach in Europe which still has a barrier separating an area reserved for women and children from an area reserved for men. Considered to be a piece of history and more like a monument, but apart from this detail there are no special facilities. Yet hundreds of people come here daily after work or just for a relaxing day out. There is a calm peaceful atmosphere, with equipment to facilitate disabled access into the sea.
