The Galleria Sabauda was built in 1832 and houses the heritage of the dukes and kings of Savoy, from Charles Emmanuel I to Charles Albert. This is seen as one of the most important national galleries because of the Savoy collections and the vast array of works by Italian masters. The Renaissance and mannerist style by the Piedmont school of painting is also well represented and there is an esteemed collection of Dutch and Flemish paintings.
