The Galleria Cartesio has for over a decade won the approval of critics, the public and Trieste’s daily newspaper the Il Piccolo who speaks highly of it. It is a narrow street that leads out of the central and hectic Via Battisti to the home of the gallery. The gallery exhibits works of local artists with an emphasis on portraits and landscapes with soft pale colours. The artists are often unheard of outside of Trieste and feature Cecillia Enrico, Aldo Bressanutti, Fulvio Monai, Federica Righi and the famous Luigi Spacal. It’s an obligatory stop for art connoisseurs.
