The Duomo in Sciacca is of Norman origin. Today, of the original structure, only the outer walls of the three apses have survived. It was rebuilt in the 17th Century with the Baroque front elevation being incomplete. The central nave has a cross-vault which is decorated with frescoes – the work of the local artist Tommaso Rossi. The frescoes show the Apocalypse and some events from the life of St. Mary Magdalen. In one of the chapels there is a Renaissance marble altarpiece by Antonio Gagini dated 1581 with panels portraying scenes of the Passion of Christ.
