Colombario di Via Taranto may seem like any other Roman yard, but it’s not, there is a surprise, look out for the two trapdoors! Also look for the steep stairway that winds up to a single vault that is lined with burial niches holding the urns of the dead. The vault is decorated with brightly coloured frescoes of flowers and birds and the two tragic masks that watch over the place appear to be the only sadness around.
