Map

The Civico Museo di Storia Naturale in Trieste was built with donations from a private group of citizens. In 1846 the original zoological room came into being though this has grown and changed locations over time. As well as the zoological section there is an entire room devoted to coral and mother of pearl and a section dedicated to herbs with around thirty herbs and other material from the region and the rest of the country. Also here is an area dedicated to prehistoric man and human anatomy, which contains a man’s brain from Mompaderno.
