The City Museum has more than 700 exhibits in 40 different galleries. Housed in a former 18th Century Jesuit monastery, it displays within the inner courtyard, beautiful mosaics and Roman inscriptions. There are some wonderful frescoes on first floor as well as ceramics and paintings on wood dating from the 15th and 16th Century. These illustrate the history of Renaissance art and include Pietā by Giovanni Bellini. The museum also has sculptures produced between the 17th and 19th Century.
