The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Sambuca di Sicilia was built in the 14th Century. Other religious buildings in the town include the Church of the Carmine, which was erected in 1530 and used as a sanctuary dedicated to Maria SS. dell’Udienza. This church contains many fine works such as a marble statue of the Virgin believed to be the work of Antonello Gagini, and a 17th Century wooden Crucifix. The 17th Century Mother Church is situated close to the Castle of Zabut.
