The Church of the Mother of God in Turin was built between 1818 and 1831. The design of the church is on a circular plan and was the work of Ferdinando Bonsignore to mark the return to Turin of Victor Emmanuel I. The interior has a number of chapels which contain Saints, and the Basilica is flanked on the outside by the Ossarium of the Fallen in the First World War. The church stairway is known to be one of Turin’s most appealing scenic points.
