The Church of St. Maria of the Giummare has a 16th Century exterior though the building has Norman origins. It was once a monastery ordered by Juliet, daughter of Roger, who constructed many of churches and monasteries in Sciacca. It was restored in 1500 and 1624. The façade dates back to 1570 and has two crenellated towers giving it the look of a fortified palace, and a Baroque portal. Inside, there is a beautiful marble Madonna delle Grazie, from the Laurana School, as well as some lovely paintings and a silver alter vessel by Juvara from Messina.
