The Chiesa Matrice was built in 1784 and can be found in the Piazza Don Tonino Bello. It is the mother church of Tricase. This church was erected by Adriano Preite da Copertino with help from the entire population and is looked on with pride. The church is home to some magnificent artwork by painters such as Catalano, Veronese, Finoglio and Jacopo Palma the Younger. The pulpit was created by Raffaele Monteanni da Lequile and dates back to 1795.
