The Chiesa di Santa Maria in Randazzo was built in the 13th Century. It has undergone numerous alterations over the years but still retains its original Norman apses. The south wall, which is decorated by two three-light mullioned windows, is also Norman. The church has a Neo-Gothic façade and a bell tower which is 19th Century. Black lava building stone was used in the construction which makes a stunning contrast to the white window and door surrounds. There is an external sacristy which once accommodated an ecclesiastic tribunal.
