The Chiesa di Fontegiusta was erected in the latter part of the 15th Century to commemorate the Sienese victory at Poggio Imperiale in 1479. It is built in a modest Renaissance style with a fine doorway by Urbano da Cortona who was also responsible for the Tomb of Cristoforo Felici in San Francesco church. Above the doorway is a bas-relief by Giovanni di Stefano and there is a fine altar fresco attributed to Sienese Baldassare Peruzzi, who worked for a time with Raphael in Rome.
