The Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta in Troia is the result of a long building process. It is composed of a Basilican hall divided into three sections by two great granite columns with capitals done in classical style. The unique capocroce strongly resembles Sicilian Norman architecture. It has a fabulously rich façade decorated by blind arcades in the bottom half and a huge 13th Century rose window above it, which is surrounded by a magnificent arcade rich in sculptures. Don’t miss the Cathedral bronze doors at the main and secondary entrances, created by Oderisio da Benevento between 1119 and 1127
