The Castello dei Luna was built in the 14th Century by Guglielmo Peralta, Count of Caltabellotta. It was once the symbol of the power of the Luna family though what remain now are a tower and the perimeter walls. A drawbridge gave access to the castle into a huge courtyard and on the ground floor were storehouses, the stables, an armoury and the St. Gregorio’s chapel. A flight of steps led to the master rooms and it is said that the castle could accommodate around 100 people.
