The Basilica of S. Giovanni Battista is a one of the most ancient churches, and dates back to before the 9th Century. It was taken down and rebuilt as it can be seen it today by the architect Pietro Grossi in 1683. The 9th Century round bell tower has two lines of large single lights capped by two and three-light windows. The basilica can be located in the city of art area and is partly accessible to wheelchair users.
