Argentina sacred area is an important archaeological site surrounded by a fence due to the area being lower than street level. It is believed to have been the original site of the Pompey Theatre. There are four temples to be seen, the first dates to the 3rd Century BC and is the best, due to being turned partly into a church in the Middle Ages. The second is circular and dates to 101 BC. The third and the most ancient is thought to date to 111 Century BC and it has an Etrurian-Roman style.
