In 1848, Giuseppe Verdi bought this villa and personally saw to its restoration. It is situated in a large estate and is surrounded by a wonderful garden. The upper floors of the villa are still occupied by Verdi’s heirs. However, Villa Verdi is preserved as it would have been at the age of the great composer and it is still possible for visitors to look around the rooms on the ground floor. Many objects are on display including the spinet used to compose some of Verdi’s most famous operas.
