This farmhouse in the small village of Busseto, near Parma, is the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi. He was born on 10 October 1813 and this house was declared a national museum after the Maestro’s death on 27 January 1901. There is a medieval church (Church of St. Michael) very close to the house, and it was here that the young Verdi started to play the 18th Century organ. St. Michael’s is also home to many paintings and frescoes from 14th to 18th Century.
