The University Museum of Mineralogy, Geology and Palaeontology was founded in 1733 thanks to the donation of the large collections of A. Vallisneri. These collections, which form two museums, now have many interesting displays of vertebrates, invertebrates and fossil plants from the Venetian region as well as from all over the globe. Also here are minerals from the Alps. These minerals are from national deposits and from various geologically important areas from all over the world.
