The Triangular Forum in Pompei can be found to the west side of the theatre complex. The small Doric temple which was placed in the centre of the Forum area is thought to date to the 6th Century BC. The remains testify to the contact the Roman people had with the Greek towns in Southern Italy though the temple had become neglected during the Roman era and used as a chapel. The Forum site consists of a large square surrounded by 95 Ionic columns.
