The world famous Teatro Grassi (also known as the Piccolo Teatro) was founded in 1947 by Paolo Grassi and Giorgio Strehler. It is situated very close to the central Via Dante, near to the old Palazzo Carmagnola. The people of Milan know the theatre as the ‘Piccolo’ – it is a fascinating venue with seating for around 600. It was here that Strehler produced some unforgettable shows. Important productions are still presented here, from the great classics to modern plays.
