Milan’s Central Station was erected sometime between 1912, when tenders were put in, and 1931 when it was opened. The front of the station is in Aurisina stone and the gallery at the entrance has medallions created by Giannino Castiglioni depicting work, commerce, science and agriculture. The first floor gallery is adorned with ceramic panels with views of Milan Turin, Florence and Rome by Basilio and Cascella. Also inside the station there is a waxworks museum.
