The St. Lucia church is one of the oldest churches in Padova. After the collapse of the bell tower in 1634 count Girolamo Frigimelica took charge of the renovation of the church that was undertaklen sometime between 1711 and 1726. It has a very elegant and austere front with white plastered structures that opens up to an interior inspired by the Palladio style Chiesa del Redentore. Inside there are numerous recesses that hold statues by Bonazza and other 18th Century sculptors. The impressive altarpiece is by Giambattista depicting Saint Lucas and a canvas by Alessandro Varotari called the Padovanino.
