The Church of St. Clemente was first mentioned in an early document from 1190. The positioning of the church, between the major squares of the city, made a popular place for religious meetings and a good point of reference for craft activities. The front which features great pilasters and a huge tympanum with the statues of Saint Clemente, Saint Giustina and Saint Daniele was found at the end of the 16th Century during vital restoration works of the Piazza dei Signori.
