The Sovenigo Lakes near Puegnago sul Garda can be reached easily by car or on foot. Puegnago is a village of Celtic origins and the area’s humid atmosphere has formed these three small lakes. Because of the remains of lake-dwelling villages found in the vicinity, it has been possible to establish that the area was already inhabited during the prehistoric era. July and August are the best time to visit as the largest of the three ponds is then covered with flowering water-lilies and lotus flowers. These flowers were imported from Japan and create a unique setting.
