The San Vittore al Corpo is an early Christian basilica and is one of the oldest buildings in the city, built to house the relics of St.Vittore and St. Satiro. It holds the remains of the Oratorio of Saint ad Corpus which was destroyed in 700 and also an octagonal mausoleum of Saint Gregorio. These are featured in records from the 16th Century, testimony to their antiquity. Construction of the new olivetano complex started in 1508, while reconstruction of the church was started in 1560.
