A small archway leads into Via dei Priori and Perugia’s west end, a quite and lovely part of the city where visitors will find San Filippo Neri. It was rebuilt by Roman architect Paolo Marucelli from an earlier building of the 1630s. It is probably the fanciest Baroque building in Umbria and its interior is full of elaborate paintings. One of the most noteworthy works here is the altarpiece of the Immaculate Conception by Pietro da Cortona.
