San Biagio Parish Church
Via del Carmine, 4 Modena 41100 - Italy

Map

The San Biagio Parish Church is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Carmine, and erected in 1319 according to a plaque inside the church. It was rebuilt to a design by Cristoforo Malagola, and embellished in decorations and paintings. The original church sited on the Via Emilia in an area where the Palazzo Montecuccoli of the Erris rises, was demolished in 1768 and the parish moved to Carmine. There is a small chapel with a magnificent gilded ceiling and a fresco showing the Madonna breastfeeding the Child, attributed to Tommaso da Modena.
