S. Giuseppe dei Teatini
Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Palermo 90040 - Italy

Map
The Church of S. Giuseppe dei Teatini was built to a plan of Giacomo Besio and was consecrated in 1612. The church is sited in the historic Quattro Canti area of the city. The interior is bright with marble and is illuminated by natural daylight that shines from the dome to the aisle through arches and very high columns. The dome is magnificent and was the work of Giuseppe Mariana of Pistola. The altar that is dedicated to Saint Gaetano has four columns in red marble and the central altar in semi-precious stone with bronze decorations is extremely beautiful.
