The Municipal National Risorgimento Museum is renowned for covering the history of Italy from the mid 18th Century until 1870. The Museum rooms hold much evidence of the national Risorgimento from the Napoleon’s first entry into Italy and to the liberation of Rome in 1870. There are some remarkable pieces on show such as the marvellous collection of flags and relics from the crowning of Napoleon I as King of Italy. There are the emperor’s personal items, like the desk of Giuseppe Mazzini and several copies of his ‘Giovine Italia’.
