The Pontano Chapel is a Renaissance building which was inspired by the small temple model handed down by Vitruvius. The chapel was built at the request of the well-known humanist Giorgio Martini and has a rectangular shape which is raised up on a podium. The outside of this chapel is decorated with pilaster strips, marble portals, family coats of arms and many plaques with Latin inscriptions. The interior has a beautiful 15th Century Majolica floor.
