The Pirelli building, also known as the ‘Pirellone’ is considered to be one of the symbols of Milan. This structure, with its 127m of glass and reinforced concrete, is one of Europe’s tallest buildings. It was built between 1955 and 1959, to a design by Ponti, Fornaroli, Rosselli, Valtolina, Dell’Orto, and Nervi. It has an unfortunate history; in 2002 Luigi Fasulo flew into the facade, killing two female employees. It is situated near Milan’s Central Station and houses the regional capital’s administrative offices.
