The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana gallery was created at the request of Cardinal Federigo Borromeo in 1618. It holds many works of art by the Venetian, Lombardian, and Flemish schools, plus bronzes and marbles. Here you can find many great masterpieces like; ‘Ritratto di musico’ by Leonardo da Vinci, ‘Cesto di frutta’ by Caravaggio and there are cartoons for ‘School of Athens; by Raffaello. There are many magnificent masterpieces, with works by Botticelli, Parmigianino, Tiziano and Tiepolo.
