The imposing Piazza IV Novembre is home two significant monuments, the Palazzo dei Priori and the Fontana and was originally built to house the town council’s administration offices. It was constructed between 1293 and 1443, during a fit of grandeur in the city. Though it’s a little austere on the exterior it is an impressive medieval building and one of the best in Italy. It is in fact composed of several buildings, which face each other onto either Corso Vannucci or the piazza, and holds four separate visitor attractions, including the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria.
