The Piazza dei Signori is the cultural heart of Padova and regularly frequented by the local people. Shops, cafes and bars surround the square; at one end the Palazzo Capitano has a clock tower dating from the late 16th Century and an astronomical clock from the middle of the 14th Century. Regular concerts are held in the 14th Century Corte Capitano which retains beautiful frescoes including a portrait of Petrarch. If you wish to get a true flavour of Padova, then Piazza dei Signori is the place to be.
