The Bosco delle Pianelle or Pianelle Forest nature reserve. It covers over 1,205 hectares in the Martina Franca area and the outskirts of the Crispiano and Massafra municipalities. This was a hideout for bandits in the 1800s but is just the place to take families on a trip to relax among the greenery, and is brilliant for nature enthusiasts. Visitors to the forest can either walk or cycle on over 15 kilometres of prepared pathways, leading to areas for picnics dotted around the reserve.
