The Photographic Museum is home to the entire collection and archives of Giuseppe Panini. There are more than 1.5 Million photographs and postcards, furnishings and equipment of three photographic studios that operated throughout the 20th Century. There is also over 4,000 volumes of the local history and photography library; air-conditioned storerooms with state-of-the-art systems to preserve the negatives and positives. There are computerised consultation areas and places to search the archive for images covering a period from 1859 to 1985. There are also lecture halls and large rooms for permanent and temporary exhibitions.
