The Pescaia Park, created in the 1970s, has everything from a children’s playground to an open-air theatre and ancient fountains. These Veggio Fountains once collected and canalised the waters from nearby springs and were built in their present-day form in the early 17th Century by Matteuccio Salvucci. An old farmhouse, registered in the Church Cadastre of 1729, is now used as the park services centre and the brick basin ruins (once used for collecting water for irrigating the gardens below it) are also from this period.
