Santa Maria is a lovely parish church and is situated in the town of Polpenazze del Garda. Permission from Pope Pio II, conceded in 1400, had to be sought for its construction. The building of Santa Maria took almost the whole of the 16th Century. This church has an attractive Baroque façade which was designed by the architect Tagliaferri and inside there are some fine paintings by artists such as Grazio Cossali, Pietro Marone and Bertanza.
