Parco D’Orléans
Corso re Ruggero, Palermo 90129 - Italy

Map

The Parco D’Orléans was created during the reign of Louis Philippe d’Orléans in Palermo sometime between 1810 and 1814 giving the layout that still exists today. The garden covered an area of seven hectares and was entrusted to Vincenzo Tineo to plant a variety of ornamental plants, fruit trees and vines according to English style landscaping. It was sometime 1853 and 1889 that changes were made according to a design of the architect Carlo Giachery who had to extend the area to include new paths and a new watering system.
