The Palazzo Pignatelli di Monteleone was built in the early 18th Century from plans designed by Ferdinando Sanfelice. Walk down the Trinità Maggiore, towards the Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, to find this beautiful palace. An elegant scroll ornament displays a dedication to Nicola Pignatelli in 1718 and on the left of the portal is a tablet commemorating the Impressionist painter and sculptor Edgar Degas’ frequent stays in Naples. With a fabulous façade, it is enriched by a magnificent entrance portal with a gable cut off from the base of the balcony.
