This Palazzo Marigliano was constructed for Bartolomeo di Capua the Count of Altavilla, by the architect Giovanni Donadio between 1512 and 1513. It is said to be one of the beautiful and elegant Renaissance homes in the whole of Naples. When the building passed from Capua into the hands of Marigliano, the portal was changed to allow carriages to enter. The original portal was made up of two pillars with ionic capitals on which an arched rested. In the atrium are two inscriptions recalling a time all-important aristocrats in the Macchia plot used to visit this palace.
