The imposing building of the Palazzo Litta was at one time occupied by the Arese. It later passed to the Litta family who had it remodelled by the architect Bolli. Famous at the time were the lavish receptions given by Maria Teresa and Eugenio Beauharnais. It was further enhanced by Baroque and Rococo decorations, and has a 17th Century courtyard, a garden which is enclosed with a railing by Piermarini and a magnificent Louis XV style apartment inside.
