The Palazzo Doria d’Angri building is originally from the 17th Century and can be found next to the Carafa di Maddaloni palace. Work on the Palazzo was carried out by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli and his son Carlo. The rooms on the first floor are from the 18th Century and include a fine gallery decorated with frescoes created by Fedele Fischetti. It was from the balcony of this Palazzo on the 7th September 1860 that Garibaldi proclaimed capture of southern Italy.
